Beneficiary Rural Preachers

Rescue Ghana Mission was established to provide financial and material support to preachers working in deprived rural communities in Ghana. We provide monthly top-up allowance to rural preachers whose financial support from their local congregation falls below the national minimum wage. 

 

Since 2016, RGM has supported about 60 rural preachers out of which 12 of the beneficiaries have exited the program at different stages for various reasons over the years. Currently, 48 preachers are being supported monthly. There are plans to enroll 12 more preachers by next year 2021.

Beneficiaries

Below are a brief profile of some of  the current beneficiary churches. 

PAREMBO CHURCH OF CHRIST

Parembo church of Christ is located in the Bono East District of the B Region of Ghana.
The church was established by preacher Owusu and some brethren from Ejura church of Christ in the year 1982/1983. The church collapsed in the year 1997 due to the fact the then preacher had to further his Bible studies.
But in 2002, preacher Dacosta came revived the church but due to the guinea-worm disease, the preacher could not stay for long and preacher Valentine took over the church in 2011 after completing his Bible studies.
The church started with a membership of twelve (12) people.
Currently, the church has an average membership of around thirty-five (35) of which thirteen (13) are men, twelve (12) are women, ten (10) are children.

WORAWORA CHURCH OF CHRIST

Worawora church of Christ is located in the Biakoye District of the Oti Region of Ghana.
The church was established by Mr. Gyamasi, who is currently an Elder at Ho church of Christ. And was later handed over to preacher Andrews Horlali in the year 2014.
The church started with a membership of twenty-five (25) people.
Currently, the church has an average membership of around fifty (50) of which twenty (20) are men, fifteen (15) are women and twenty (20) are children.
The church has a permanent place of worship. We have managed to put up a structure where we fellowship.

TONTRO CHURCH OF CHRIST

Tontro church of Christ is located in the Abuakwa North District of the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The church was established through an evangelism led by myself (Preacher Narh Amanor) and with the support of Deacon Emmanuel Atteh, who is currently at Accra road church of Christ, Ashaiman, in the year 2005 and started with a membership of sixty (60) people.
Currently, the church has an average membership of fifty (50) of which, twenty (20) are children, five (5) are aged, fifteen (15) are women, ten (10) are youth and fifteen (15) are men.
The church has a permanent place of worship but currently working to put up a structure hence fellowship in a classroom.

TENGLETON BURADEN CHURCH OF CHRIST

Tenglinton Burandeni church of Christ is located few miles away the Salaga road in the Kpandai District of the Northern Region of Ghana.
The church was established through the United State of America missionary’s rural evangelism in the year 1998 and started with a membership of fifty (50) people.
Currently, the church has an average membership of fifty (50) of which, twenty-five (25) are children, ten (10) are women and fifteen (15) are men.
The church has a permanent place of worship but collapsed due to heavy rainfall. We currently worship under a mango tree.

SHERIGU CHURCH OF CHRIST

Sherigu church of Christ is located in the Bolgatanga Municipal of the Upper East Region of Ghana.

The church started with two (2) people. In the year 1999, two brothers were trolling from Sherigu to Bolgatanga church of Christ to worship with them.

In the year 2002, they stopped going to Bolga church. One brother, Roger Ayillah built two rooms in the market and gave one room for the church to worship.

A year later, missionaries and some brethren came down from Takoradi for public preaching. Lot of people were baptized and they were helped in diverse ways from food, clothing and health wise at a common market called Azanlonge where they worshipped.

CHURCH OF CHRIST IN BUILSA LAND (SANDEMA

I salute everyone who is reading this history in the Lord’s name.

The Church of Christ came to Buluk (Sandema) in 1975, but the day and month has not been documented.

The Missionaries who brought the word were Mark V (white man) from Nsawam road Church of Christ, Christian Nsua from Tema Community Five (5) Church of Christ, Preacher Isaac from Somanya Church of Christ, Sampson Lad from Yendi.

They came and met one man called Anson Anoaimoin Apusik who led them to do the evangelism and eventually setup a church at Sandema, the District capital, and we began worshipping in a classroom at Ayieta Primary School.

PODOE CHURCH OF CHRIST

The church of Christ of Podoe is located at North Tongu District, in the Volta Region of Ghana. It was established on 22nd June 2002 by a group of Missionaries from America (U.S.A)

Our current membership is thirteen (13): three (3) men, four (4) women, and seven (7) children.

Our average weekly giving is Gh¢14.25p.

Most of the members are of age and weak, they cannot do any physical work to help the church. Secondly, the transportation problems of the preacher.

NEW SUBRI CHURCH OF CHRIST

The church was established in 1995 and was posted there in year on 2009 from the day I graduated.

The church had started building it Temple but not completed. Concerning attendance of members, it has reduced due to the migration of the youth to the cities. Currently the exact number of members in the congregation thirty (adult) and ten teenagers.

In fact, of matters, sometimes members offer thirty cedis or twenty-five cedis.

Since my pastoral work, I have not received any monthly salary from my church.

BREMAN FOSUANSA CHURCH OF CHRIST

Fosuansa church of Christ is located in the Esikuma Odoben Brakwa District of the Central Region of Ghana.

The church was established by Brakwa church of Christ in the year 1998 and was later handed over to preacher Isaac Mensah.

The church started with a membership of twelve (12) people.

Currently, the church has an average membership of fifty (50) of which ten (10) are men, twenty (20) are women and twenty (20) are children.

The church has a permanent place of worship but we are currently struggling to put up a church building. Hence, we beseech brethren to come to our aid.

The weekly giving of the church on Sundays is around GHC30.00

Most of the youth have left for the cities to seek green pastures. This phenomenon of continuous migration of the youth to the cities is affecting the growth of the church.

NBONDO CHURCH OF CHRIST

Chamba Nbondo church of Christ is located in a community called Nbondo district of Nanumba North northern region. The Church was established by Mr. Job in the year 2005.

The church started with a membership of seventy-five (75).

Currently, the church has an average membership of about thirty-seven (37), of which eleven (11) are adults, sixteen (16) are aged, ten (10) are youth and about thirteen (13) are children.

The church does not have a permanent place of worship. They fellowship under tree.

The weekly giving on Sundays is around Gh5.

BREMAN OKUKROM CHURCH OF CHRIST

Breman Okukrom church of Christ is located in the Asikuma Odobeng District of the Central Region of Ghana.

The church was established in March 1997 by some brethren at Breman church of Christ, led by preacher Samuel Mends, Brother Emmanuel Fenyi now a preacher at Breman Asikuma (Broni krom church of Christ), Bro. Abraham Oduro (Breman Amoanda’s Preacher) and Bro. Ackom (now at Twifo Praso church of Christ).

BREMAN AMOANDA CHURCH OF CHRIST

Breman Amoanda church of Christ is located in the Esikuma Adomeabra District of the Central Region of Ghana.

The church was established by preacher Ebenezer Sarquah from Akyim Achiase Church of Christ and an American preacher Latin. The church was later handed over to Preacher Abraham Oduro in the year 2004.

The church started with a membership of forty (40) people.

Currently, the church has an average membership of around twenty-five (25) of which ten (10) are men, ten (17) are women, five (5) are children.

The weekly giving of the church on Sundays is around GHC50.00

BIMBILLA & KPATING CHURCH OF CHRIST

Bimbilla Kpating Church of Christ is located in the Nanomba District of the Northern Region of Ghana.

The Kpatinh church of Christ was established by Mr. Amidu and some missionaries on the 24th may, 1998 The church started with a membership of thirty (32) people.

Whilst, Bimbilla church of Christ was also established on 16 June 2013 with 23 members – 19 men and 4 women with our senior preacher brother Ayini and The Tamale Institute Of Biblical Studies (TIBS)

Currently, the church has an average membership of around sixty-three (63) of which thirty-seven (37) are men, twelve (12) are women, fourteen (14) are children.

BABILE-LAURA CHURCH OF CHRIST

Babile-Laura church of Christ is located in the Laura District of the Upper West Region of Ghana.

The church was established by some missionaries from the United State of America and Tema, Accra in the year 1999.

The church started with a membership of five (5) people.

Currently, the church has an average membership of around fifty (50) of which eight (8) are men, seventeen (17) are women, fifteen (15) are children.

The church does not have a permanent place of worship. We worship in the classroom.

The weekly giving of the church on Sundays is around GHC30.00

ANYINASIN CHURCH OF CHRIST

Anyinasin church of Christ is located in the Akyem Abuakwa North District of the Eastern Region of Ghana.

The church was established by the Old Tafo Akim church of Christ. And was later handed over to preacher Andrews Horlali in the year 2014.

The church started with a membership of twenty (20) people.

Currently, the church has an average membership of around thirty-six (36) of which twelve (12) are men, eight (8) are women, ten (10) are children and nine (9) are aged.

TWIFO WAMASO CHURCH OF CHRIST

Wamaso Church of Christ was established in the year 2006 with four members by a Rural Evangelism team in Wassa Ateiku. The Church is located in a rural community called Twifo Wamaso in the Twifo –Ati Morkwaa in the Central Region.
My name is Preacher Stephen Aidoo, I have been preaching here since November 2008. I took over when the church had only nine members but by the grace of God our current memberships is 53; consisting 31 adults, 7 youth and 15 children. Our weekly current average giving is 65 cedis.

Twifo-praso church of Christ is located in the Twifo Praso District of the Central Region of Ghana.
The church was established by preacher Samuel Ansah in the year 2006.
The church started with a membership of five (5) people.

Tamekope Church of Christ

Tamekope Church of Christ is located in a community called Penyi-pedo Tamekope in the Ketu North municipal assembly Dzodze in the Volta region of Ghana.
The church was established by Penyi church of Christ in the year 2007 with (4) members. Currently, the church has an average membership of about fifty-three (53) of which twelve (12) are male, sixteen (16) female, and twenty-five (25) children.

Sumbrungo church of Christ

Sumbrungo church of Christ is located at Sumbrungo, a small town near Bolgatanga in the upper east region of Ghana. It was established in the year 2000 by a preacher popularly known as Mr. Williams Nsoh with twelve (12) members, four (4) men, six (6) women, and two (2) children. In the year 2011, there was a problem between Nsoh and the white men who were supporting him.

Sovie Church of Christ

In September/October 1996 an Evangelistic Team made up of the Missionaries from the US and Brothers from Ho Church of Christ came to Sovie to preach the gospel. It was a weeklong gospel campaign that ended up with seven (7) Baptisms.

After that program, our late Brother, Bro. Victor Dei who was an Evangelist/Follow Up worker at Ho Central Church of Christ continued to visit the Church and assisted them in their Sunday worship.

He continued until in January 1997 when brother Stephen M. Dorwu who is currently the Administrator/Registrar and Preacher of Hill Top Church of Christ Ho, was appointed by the Elders of Ho Church of Christ as its first Minister. Bro. Stephen M. Dorwu who was at the time the Secretary of Kpando Church of Christ humbly took the appointment and led the Church and brought the membership to forty-five (45) brothers in a period of three (3) years.

Podoe Church of Christ

Papagya Church of Christ

Papagya church of Christ was established on 11th May 2003 with fifteen (15) members; six (6) men, five (5) children, and four (4) women.

The member, Mr. Francis Ampong, and his wife Florence Acquah were worshiping at Abuenu from the year 2000. They started their evangelism in the year 2003 with the support of the Central Church of Christ-Aboom in Cape Coast to establish Papagya Congregation.

Obosomase Church of Christ

The Church was established by the Aburi church of Christ on the 24th day of November 2013. It was started with five (5) members, but by the grace of God, our current membership now is thirty-seven (37), with twenty-two (22) adults and fifteen (15) being children.

It is located on the right side of the Accra- Mamfe road at Enkaakyi junction about a minute drive from the main road.

The church is currently worshipping in someone’s uncompleted building.

MEHAME CHURCH OF CHRIST

Mehame church of Christ is located in a Mehame community in the Asutifi south district of Ahafo Region of Ghana.

The church was established by Dadiesoaba church of Christ in the year (2001) and started with a membership of twelve (12).

Currently, the church has an average membership of about ninety-seven (97) of which fifty-one (51) are adults, seven (7) aged, twelve (12) youth, and about twenty-seven (27) are children. The church has a permanent place of worship.

Lugni church of Christ

Lugni church of Christ is located in the Nanomba South District of the Northern Region of Ghana.

The church was established by preacher Daniel but later handed over to preacher Godwin in the year 2006 at the Nyobido community. Later on, preacher Godwin Bentikme moved the church from the village to Lungni town due to some difficulties in the village.

Kwapong church of Christ is located in the Asunafo South District of the Ahafo Region of Ghana.

The church was established by preacher John Aduku in the year 2000. The church started with a membership of six (6) people.

Kuka Church of Christ

The Kuka Church of Christ is in the Upper East region in the Bawku district. It was established in January 2010 with about 40 baptized members. Now the population is about 135 baptized members.

It is good to note that the church was initially a denominational church by name Living Waters Chapel international Church established in 1999 led by Pastor Jacob Nichema.

Klo Akwapem Church of Christ is located in a community called Klo Akwapem in the Yilo krobo of Eastern region.

The church was established by the Somanya church of Christ in the year 1993 and started with a membership of twenty-four (24).

Currently, the church has an average membership of about twenty-six (26) of which eight (8) are adults, one (1) is aged, ten (10) are youth and about seven (7) are children.

It was established by Dzodze Ablorme church of Christ on the 1st of February 2013 with only 2 souls. Our average membership currently is about 37 of which 6 are males, 10 females and 21 children.
